Final plans arrived...

And they still aren't right! Arghhhhh, such annoyment. Two things weren't right- floorplan did not have double 820 doors on master (this was annotated on our contract drawings and should have been amended) and there was a variation enclosed for us to accept Technika appliances instead of D'amani- ah no thanks. Our admin wanted us to sign the Technika variation and then sign one that overrides that and reinstates D'amani. She claimed they can't delete/rescind a variation, it must be overridden. Pffff. Sound fishy? Yeah it did to us too, so Chris rang today and said we won't sign any variations on appliances. Problem solved. New final plans are on their way to us, hopefully this time we have our doors!

9 days until site start!

And we bought a clock (thanks ebay!) It was actually pretty hard to find one we liked and one without a beige/yellowy face... Most are either ultra modern or really country.

Let the countdown begin!

We have a start date!!! Apparently our file will be 'picked up' by a site supervisor next Thursday and all our tradies booked for seven days after that. So in 2 weeks we should expect to see a bit of a digging happening! Yay :-)

Last minute clarifications

Got an email yesterday from Henley, wanting to amend/clarify a couple of tiny little things. They have recommended we change the door handles on the pantry to the type pictured above (rather than the fixed lip pull tiny ones we had) because as a result of having access through the pantry into the house this doorway is now a "highly trafficable area." A good idea we think. They also wanted to know if we wanted "provisions" for the future gas heating (i.e. a powerpoint in the roof) to which we said no thank you. And apparently our lovely ensuite feature tile was left off our colour selection docs so they wanted to know if we still wanted it- yes please! Although everything- down to the last detail- is now finalised, we still haven't been given a start date. We are guessing it will be very soon though!

And the winners (might) be...

So far (and I've been to every bloody shop!) this is our favourite for the master bedroom. There's a smaller, 3 light version we thought would go great in the WIR.

Thinking either of these for above the dining table. Mmmmm..... The one with the nice cut-outs has an advantage because there's a matching lamp available that could go in the family area, linking the two spaces together.

A little bit of shopping

This weekend we've been (and are going again today!) light shopping at Beacon and Creative Lighting. We have pretty much picked out what we would would like in the master bedroom and have a 'maybe' choice for either side of the garage (exterior). No purchases as yet; we will sit on our choices and make sure we still love them in a couple of months time. Hopefully they will go on sale at some point too.

Ryan's house

Just been told that our file will be "handed over" to construction tomorrow. Not sure if that just means two guys meet in a room and one passes a manilla folder to the other....hmmm. Surely we can't be too far away. On another note, Ryan's house 'The Charleton' is going well as you can see in the pics. You can also see that the dicktation war between Ryan and Chris has reached new heights.lol.!!!

Fence complete

As you can see, the fence is done on one side of our block. Not sure if/when we'll have to pay for it as we didn't approve their quote. But we've read that lots of 'package' builders simply absorb the cost themselves (yay!) A free fence is a great fence.

Looks like we're getting a fence...

Went out to the block today and noticed the neighbours have started constructing the dividing fence. Looks to be much higher than the estate design regulations, but we're not complaining- that's our blind side, the more privacy the better! Notice there's still rubbish and crap from their builders on our block, grrrr.
