Tiles ready to go on

Shower is all blacked out and ready to be covered up.

Floor tile 'millenium black' (which oddly enough, is a grey colour)

Feature tile for ensuite. To be cut into a strip and laid vertically. Three squares thick? Maybe four? Can't remember!!

Timber doors stained

Stacker sliding doors have been stained. Ooooo now we just have to wait for that deck to be built... Might be a while!

Kids' Retreat doors are looking nice now after their lick of brown.

Front door looks so nice now too. Just needs the proper handle to really finish it off!

Garage doors

So excited to see all the things they've done this week. Really feels like the end is not too far away now! Our rear roller door is on.

And the access door has been painted, as have all the internal doors, walls, architraves etc.


Front garage door kind of finishes everything off. Driveway will make it look even better!

Painting- walls and ceiling done

Looks like the painting on the inside is almost done, but none of the timber bits (sliding doors, windows at the front) have been stained yet. Above is the living room. There's been an issue with this window and the one next to it not being level (ie at the same height). To make it look fixed, they've moved the architrave on one of them. Still looks a bit dodgy...

Here are the doors with a coat of gloss white on them.

Wardrobe doors for the minor bedrooms have been spray painted in undercoat.

So have the doors for our bedroom and the study.


The laundry with its coat of paint. Really like how stark and cool it looks.


Kids' retreat area. They've taken our nice timber/glass doors off the hinges. Hopefully they'll be painted tomorrow!

Family area is all painted in 'Tundra Mist.' Roof has two coats, walls one. No stain on the doors and windows yet. Very happy with the colour. So glad it doesn't throw off any green.

Dining chairs

Decided to have a go at reupholstering the dining chairs this weekend. The royal blue doesn't match the new house colour scheme so I ordered some Warwick fabric in charcoal. Decided to do the DIY option as the upholsterer charges $65 per seat to do it!
Above is one of the chairs before. Below is halfway through the process-

And voila`! The finished product. They look fantastic, if I do say so myself, and will match the grey floor tiles of the new place perfectly

Two weeks of nothin

It's been two weeks now since anything happened at the house :-(
It's starting to feel just like January all over again.

Timber-look venetian blinds

Picked up the blinds for the front of the house from Spotlight today. Took the garage one out of the bubble wrap to check the size/fit. Absolutely perfect to the millimetre! Pretty happy with how they look. Will look even better with the proper timber piece covering the metal at the top I think. No other progress on the house so this is all the excitement we could get.
